Depending on the size of the ORACLE application, the process includes one or more days on site to collect project data, run proprietary diagnostic tools, run commercial tools, and interview project personnel. All of the data is analyzed in detail over a period of approximately two weeks. The results are reports which identify specific detailed strengths and weaknesses of database tables, columns, keys, indexes, triggers and other database components. Other analyses focus on database design standards, aspects of ORACLE instance design which may prevent disaster recovery, and the potential for database corruption from accidental or uninformed actions of users.

Swat Team Objectives

The objective of a SWAT TEAM is to perform a quick, in-depth analysis using special tools and highly qualified DBA analysts. The analysis is followed by presentation of detail to aid resident DBAs and project managers as database development is enhanced. This detail is accompanied by a management report which summarizes both strengths and weaknesses of the database, describes the cause and effect of weaknesses and strengths, and makes specific developmental recommendations.

Periodic Assistance

As a follow on to the DBA SWAT team we also Provide periodic analytical services to resident DBA and development staffs as needed (two days a month, one day a week, 5 days a week, etc.).

We also provide information on Tablespace fragmentation and Datafile organization from Data accumulated using proprietary tools.
